ok so i got to drive in the truck... it has a slight miss, the guy said the engine code reader said something about the number 7 injector missfiring or something to that extent... and the overdrive light was flashing.. any ideas?
Best case senario is it needs an under valve cover harness for the injector and a speed sensor on the rear end. Worst case the tranny is shot and it need atleast 1 injector and the other may be on their way.
Worse case senario you can rebuild all 8 injectors for under $400 from DIY. OD light flashing is easy, speed sensor on the rear axle. Tranny shot, maybe.. Look at $1200 for a basic rebuild. 5k for a performance. I still say buy the truck. Here's why....... I litterally bought a truck just to see if I could fix it. And when I sat down and used my head with everything I learned here, it was easy. And when I was worred that I screwed up, and was over my head....I got on here and asked questions, and the answer came to me almost as quick as everyone here provided them. Buy the truck and together we can get it back in top shape if you stay motivated. BUY IT!
well thanks guys... im motivated... ive been a fly on the wall the past few months here just reading what everyone sais is wrong with their truck and watching the guys get involved with helping trouble shoot it, its kinda like a family on here speciall for the high post guys... well im just waiting to find out about my new job, if i get it, ill go buy the truck the next day...
tj.. it shifted a little slow, but to be honest, i dont think it shifted slow all the time... by slow i mean slipping...
Pretty common to have a slip shift but as long as you didn't have to let up on the go pedal to get it to shift and it shifted thru all the gears not skipping one or two gears then its probably just a wiring or sensor issue.
no we didnt let up off the go pedal it shifted strait through... didnt skip any gears... and the overdrive light flashes when your driving, another guy said the rear wheel speed sensor sounded like it would need changeing, that wouldent cause a slow shift between gears would it?
