HI, I searched but didn't find anything. I have a parts truck that I am trying to get the sliding rear window out of. To install in my daily driver. My Haynes manual isn't very helpful. Does anyone know if a decent How to, or can be more descriptive than the Haynes manual. The window is coming out of a 94 f150 into a 92.
remove interior plastic ETC. Apply pressure at on lower corner from inside. and start rolling rubber towards out side of truck. Keep working both ways . It will come out for you. e lower
oh and get some spray silicone it help work loose and reinstall. Get some heavy twine . insert in rubber grove with 2 ends at bottom middle. with someone in bed pushing start working and pulling rope to get rubber around metal. Later
I've always had better luck pushing out one of the top corners first- they are rounded instead of square and are easier to coax out. It might help to roll the rubber seal back a bit while someone else pushes on the window to help convince it to start. And do as lostin90's said for reinstall- use 1/4" nylon rope.
I've found that the Haynes/Chilton manuals are only good for certain things, and that the Chilton is the better of the two. I'm not very impressed with the info in the Haynes manual for my 95 at all, it's hard to even find fluid capacities for stuff like the transmission and xfer case!
