I've owned my Excursion since September. After one week (and 700 miles) of ownership, it had a failure of the PATS ECU and was at the dealer for several weeks while they fixed the issue. I picked it up from the dealership on November 16th, with 91,000 miles on it. Today, I just rolled over 94,000 on my way to work. Last Thursday, I recall rolling over 93,000 while driving locally to a friend's house.
How do I put 3,000 miles on my truck in 4 weeks, and 1,000 miles on it in one week?!
Well, I've been going to New York every weekend since I picked it up (which I estimate at 500 miles per trip, but I think it comes out higher). Work is about 16 miles each way, and then I end up having errands to run after work usually. Every weekend I drive it to New York, it is packed. This weekend it is really packed, and while I'm at home I'm going to help some friends purchase a bed and move it to their house.
Still, I'm putting miles on this thing fast! It looks like I'll hit 95k before the new year at this rate!
if u go with exhaust go with flowmaster or magnaflow. They sound best on the mod motors. If ur going to get headers, u might as well replace the stock "t pipe" and get a real y pipe. Believe it or not they give u better sound and ppl in the v-10 forum said when u put on the realy y pipe, u can feel a difference
I had Magnaflows on my Town Car, and they sounded awesome. I figure I'll get some Magnaflows for this truck as well.
I bought the eBay headers last night, and figure those will go on eventually. I can't afford any sort of significant downtime during the winter, so I'll either take it to a shop and have them do it (wonder if the Ford dealer would do it and give me a loaner...) or just wait until spring and drive the Jag while I do the headers over the course of a couple days. I'd rather get it done sooner rather than later, so I may try to find a shop who will do it.
