Got an opportunity to purchase some Stainless shorties headers and was wondering if a set that orginially where purchase for a 88 model F150 EFI 302 will fit into / on a 76 302 inside my 65 model F100.
I assume the bolt pattern & size will allow them to fit, and the EFI is not a factor. Only seen pic of these headers and don't see and sensor attach etc to them.
a 302 is a 302. the only way they wont fit is if the gt-40 heads are used or if i remember correctly, its an early 302 but i am not 100% on that. the gt-40 heads have a different bolt pattern from what i am led to believe. now as far as fitting in your truck. that i cant tell ya. if they do, the only place that i would see a prob would with your steering sector on the drivers side.
thanks for your reply; i'm like you 302 standard head is a standard head; It looks like the collectors are/ is right behind the last exhuast port. I had long tubes on before but the passenger side touch the trans pan and very close to the starter. I can purchase these brand new for $125.
I probably will take the risk.
Some one did recently say the engine mounts/ type determnie the most issue with these engine bay issued.
Isn't it funny; you come across a deal and the seller is not repsonding to my emails or calling me. I probably lost out; but if it wasn't meant to be than it ain't.
Thanks guys for your comments.
Thanks Rob; just wish the guy would call me or email me a reply. I presonnelly don't mine my factory exhuast setup; however did recently invest in getting my head's hipo.
Thought now's the time for headers; I like the sound of stainless steel; but worry about them turning color. I show my truck more than I go. If you know what I meant.
