You guys aint even seen the half of it. There is one of a V-12, a few of some blown mini chevs. There are several from a compnay that sells them at about 5000. Lots more where that cam from. The V-12 is the most awesome looking IMO. The Blown chev is pretty sweet too. It even sounds like a fuely at the strip.
They are all for 1/4 and 1/5 scale R/C's. They would fit into a little go cart or something, but I don't think the torque curve would pull the weight. Most of the cars they go into are made of aluminum, carbon fiber, fiberglass, and plastic. The V-12 on u-tube was built for a scale war bird. They are pretty fascinating. Most of them are pretty much destined to stay attached to their display frames, and won't ever see anything more than an occasional fire for viewing pleasure. There are also several radials, and even a few flat twin and four cylinder motors for the R/C aircraft, and an inline four was recently introduced for vintage scale flyers. The technology is phenominal, and the engineering behind them is truely amazing. They basically just down sized our real sized motors. They all have tiny lifters, cams, pushrods, and rockers. Some of them are even water cooled with little electric water pumps that are remote mounted, and pump through tubes in the correct locations. I can't remember the name of the company, but do a u-tube search for r/c v-12, and it will have several of the other ones in the side display. There are a couple links to show a few of the ones made by a company. If you get the name, and go to their website, and you will be able to check out some of their really cool engines.
i could live with the scale rc stuff ........ it'd give me sumpthin cool to chase the neighbors cats with . they sure wouldn't outrun those !!!!!!!! heehee . fur a flying and cats a howlin" !!!!!!!!!
There is a guy in Denver that has been doing some of the engineering work on these motors.
I know he built the Blown Flathead Ford and an Injected Offenhauser 4Cyl. His blower works and the injection system even has the proper size "Pill" for the fuel flow.
Whenever he completes a project he sells the rights to a company that builds the kits for assembly. Then he buys more machinery.
