Need help with battery light.

My 96 has been turning over slower in the last few weeks. I figured it was the colder weather. The batteries are a year old,I had them checked anyway and they are fine. The alternator is 3 months old and it is good. Monday morning it would not start, turning to slow. I replaced the starter, and now starts better than ever. On Tuesday morning the battery light came on just for a couple seconds and went off. Today half way to work it came on again and stayed on . All the gauges are reading okay. All the way home (about 10 miles ) it stayed on. I don't have service manual for this truck yet, waiting for Christmas. Do these truck have a voltage regulator ? Could this be the problem ? What are your thoughts on this . Thanks for your help.

Check the plug going into the alternator. Had the same problem with my 94 and it was a loose connection.
