Electrical problem HELP!

Electrical problem HELP!
I have a 2000 F450 PSD auto and it is giving me some issues. Started with the battery light on on the dash today the the radio started shutting off and on, and then the gauges started to drop all the way down. But then came back this went on over about 3 hours and we did not turn the truck off because we we afraid it would not start but it did start just fine when we turned it off.
Both batteries are reading over 12 volts
Cleaned all battery terminals and check both grounds both seem to be good
any ides ???
