Do motor mounts need condoms (rubber)?
Im doing a 460 swap into my 77 half ton and i bought some motor monunts on ebay instead of spending twice as much on L&L mounts. I didnt notice though that they didnt have any rubber on the mounts to take in vibration from the motor. I can add about a 1/2 inch of rubber on the mount but is it really necessay or should i not even bother to use these mounts if its going to give me problems in the future?

Probably not a good idea to add rubber to the mounts. Rubber mounts are to isolate engine vibration. Some people like solid mounts, some say they make the frame crack but reguardless if you solid mount the engine you need to solid mount the transmission.
