I was wondering if anyone has or is running nitrous. I was thinking that it would be good for the thick stuff or passing on the highway. I am not sure if the 300-6 is a good candidate.

I just wrote an email to NOS yesterday asking for their suggestions on a system for the 300 (specifically if they would suggest using their budget "Power Shot" system).
The response was, that due to distribution problems, they suggested using their individual fogger system over the carb spacer-type system (a jump from $395 to $750).
Unfortunately for me, I spent $750 to buy the truck--I can't justify $750 for the NOS system...
I have asked the same question here and all that I got back in response, other than flack, is that this engine would most likely combust unless you made some major improvements to it and they suggested that it might be better to just swap it out wiht a 302 or something else. But who would want to spend the time, money, and knowledge to do that when they could get a small 50shot nos is all i'm saying.
I guess your running a four barrel intake with headers and everything else is stock.
A 50HP plate system will work, WITH NO PROBLEMS, if you remember one thing. When the nitros is on your carb must be running RICH!
It really does'nt matter how you get the fuel in there, just as long as it's there. Some people run a plate system that adds fuel along with the nitros, others increase the jet size on the secondaries to add the fuel.
Remember the 300 is a very strong engine, but detonation will blow a hole in any piston running lean with nitos.
A little black smoke (sign of running rich) is a good thing, when on the bottle.
Try looking on Ebay for Nitros system components.
I learned my lessons the expensive way.

PS..You want to have some RPM (2500plus) before hand.
