Option #1. 95 F350 XLT crew cab, PSD, auto, 185K, 4" or so lift, newer 35's on aluminum wheels, minor damage to tailgate, fender flares, wood grain dash, tow package, grille guard, CD player.
Option #2. 97 F350 XLT crew cab, PSD, auto, 192K, stock wheels w/decent tires (no lift), shell on the bed, Rhino lined (w/carpet kit for shell), tow package, decent shape inside/out.
Could probably get my hands on either one for $8500-$9000. I'm drawn to the 95, wife likes the 97
i would go for the '95 and tell the wife that it's cause it's got lower miles, but really you probably want it cause of the lift, tires/wheels, and the exhaust!!!! ... but if your lookin' at putting a SD HPOP on the truck then i would go ahead and get the '97 because it's going to be a lot less work to do than on the '95.
What's the benefit of an upgrade to a Super Duty HPOP? And does 10 HP really make that much of a difference? I will agree that tranny updates would be a big plus though!
The benefit of the SD HPOP is higher ICP pressures to drive the injectors once a chip or larger injectors are added. And no the 10hp doesn't make much difference. easily overcome with a chip
Okay sorry guys, now there are 4 players
#3 is another 95 F350 XLT crew cab, 171K, auto trans, don't know anything else because the dealer closed before I got ahold of them. They are asking $12950 which is way high for a 95 IMO, not sure whether or not I could get them down to the same price range as the other two or not.
#4 is another 97 F350 XLT crew cab, 155K, 5 speed, runs and drives good, 5th wheel and bumper hitch, will need tires soon, basically all stock.

So, how does the HPOP upgrade work with the SD IDM upgrade, do they accomplish the same thing?
no they do not. the IDM, i believe, ups the voltage going to the injectors, but the HPOP allows for more oil to fire the injectors. the HPOP will be a lot better than the stock b/c once you add a chip then the stocker will not be able to supply the oil demand, but the SD HPOP should be more than capable to supply enough oil to run the injectors.
Well, now I'm p!ssed. Had a guy lined up to buy my truck, was supposed to pick it up tomorrow, cash in hand. He just called and bailed on me Puts my search for a PSD on hold... again!
