I think my gauge is messed up

Alright, here lately I've been noticing werid egts and I don't think there right at all. It has been fairly cold around here but my temps seem wayyyy to low. In the morning after letting the truck idle for about 5 minutes before I leave the gauges still shows it being under 100*. Once I get driving for about 15 mintues it may go up to 200*. Are these numbers to low? I think I have a problem.

Yep, you got problems. Check you ground wire in the cab first, then trace the lead down to the probe, lastly pull the probe out and make sure its not broke or has a hole in it.

What does the gauge say when you turn the ignition on before you start it? It should read ambient. A slow idle with a warm engine is about 300*.

I pulled the probe, no problems there and checked all my wiring the other day. I'm think the box is acting up, I'll just have to give DieselManor a call tomorrow.

Sorry, but I guess I'm missing something. Still not sure what you are referring to.

Some brands of gauges use some sort of box to do something to some sort of signal by some means. I don't know why or how it does it either.

Well I just went back outside in the cold to make sure it wasn't a connection problem. I checked all the connections and also the grounds and there are no problems so I guess the box is just bad and I'll have to call.
