Smile panel gas tank

Got the new tank for my 54 panel today .I had it built by a guy that builds fire trucks. He used my old tank as a template and made it to fit under the frame just like original.Someone was asking about panel tanks,he said he could make some more if any body wanted them.$400. picture on my gallery.

There is not a lot of room for expansion, I spent more than a few hrs under mine this summer tryin' to figure out a way to fit a few more gallons in there.

Some time in it's past someone has rigged Gracie with a second tank under the rear. The tank was gone , but the second fill neck in the center of the rear pan, the fuel line and the switch valve were left in place.

I'm considering running the pipes our the wheel wells and down the sides like lake pipes,
Then I could put another tank on the Pax side.
That would total up to about 34 Gal.

I'm not sure why I want so much gas, I can only drive thru a large McDonalds Coffee anyway.

As I mentioned in a previous post, I used a take off tank from a truck that was being made into a fire truck. I figure this tank is about 50% bigger than the stock. I made new mounting brackets. The new tank hangs a little lower than the stock tank but I still have a lot of clearance.
