I got this one from Summit http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku and I love it. Bolted right on and I got instant change from my crappy 2150 that I had on there, it ran smoother and it was more quiet while idling but when I step on it watch out! I had already rebuilt the 2150 and I couldn't get it to act right then I took it to a shop and the guy there rebuilt it again and while he had it apart he noticed there was pitting where the idle mixture screws screw in. So it never would run right! Don't forget to order the throttle lever stud with the ball on it http://store.summitracing.com/partde...part=HLY-20-37 so the linkage from your truck will connect. I love my Holley 4412 and I recommend them to anyone that ever asks what carb they should get.
Yep, the short block of my engine came from an 83 grand marquis and I put my 77 heads and intake on it. I do have headers. So the headers and the carb are my only mods. I have a 302 with a c4 tranny.

Nice - I appreciate it... I do have one question - choke cable? When I was given this truck and drove it for all of 15 min. to its current garage location... I do not recall seeing a choke cable inside the cab. Is there one? where is it?
Most likely the 2150 that is on there, if it is the original one, has as automatic choke so there's not a choke cable. I just bought one from autozone after I got my new carb on. It's funny my truck used to be green. ha ha
Alright..... my father-in-law disassembled the engine/carb while I was away and like I said in my 1st post in this thread - my experience with carbs is ZERO! Does that mean when looking for a carb I look for a manual? I see electric, manual and vaccum choke as choices wherever I look.

It's up to you, whatever kind you want to put on there. You don't have to get a certain kind. I've thought about adding the electric choke piece to my carb but it does just fine with the manual so I've left it alone. I'll spend that $50 bucks on something else!!
Thanks Mil1ion... I purchased the carb from carburetorsdirect.com tonight....
I simply can not afford a new holley and this truck needs to walk before it runs!
I will obviously continue to update - all I need is this carb and we should be ready to turn this girl over!
