Locating reverse light wires

I posted this question in the electrical forum also.
07 Explorer
I need to locate the reverse light wiring. I want to install additional reverse lights and need to tap a relay in to the wire that leads to the reverse lights.

What color is the wire that I need to look for.

Any Chiltons or Haynes manual with a wiring diagram should tell you. Maybe someone that knows off hand will jump in.

I tried checking on the12volt.com but they didn't have your truck listed. Can you pull one of the tail lights out and get the wire color off of that? Maybe call the parts dept of a dealership? Or as previously mentioned, a Haynes/Chilton's will have a wiring diagram. Those are worth having around anyways...

Well thr EVTM for my 97 Explorer shows black/pink

The EVTM for my 95 Taurus also shows BK/PK

And the EVTM for my 87 Ranger shows BK/PK.

Probably the same on your 07.

Just did the light hook up yesterday, and it works great. PLENTY of reverse light now.

Reverse positive wire is brown with blue.
Negative wire is black with green.

Using a relay in the set up is the only way to go. Simple/clean and will be easier to locate proplems if any arise.
