Hey yall for christmas im thinkin that imma be gettin a set of underdrive pulleys for my 97 f150 4.6 4x4, I think i will be gettin the MAC ones off of ebay. Anyways im 16 and dont have alot of money and like to do things myself if i can so i was wondering how hard it would be to put these on, i have a little mechanical experience, not much but i think should be able to handle them im just a little intimidated right now cause they seem hard to get to. Are these a simple install? Oh and what can i expect in the way of performance gains? Thanks guys!
If you have an impact gun they are easy, although I'd save some money and install Efans at the same time since the clutch fan is going to have to come off for the UD pulleys, you might as well leave it off and gain some more power and mileage with some Efans.
O ok, well i do have an impact wrench so your sayin it shouldnt be too hard, thanks. I've been thinking about doing that too, just saving and gettin the efans at the same time but i keep seeing them for around $400 plus and thats alot of money to me lol, any suggestions about where i could get them for cheaper but still decent quality, ive been kinda saving for a set of dual 16" (?) from Troyer since I've heard good things about them.
I know you're post is about UD pulleys but you mentioned EFans for $400+... Look into Hayden Automotive they have Efans reasonably priced. Sorry I don't have any thing to contribute about UD pulleys I want to do that mod myself so GOOD LUCK!!
