i have a 2000 X and my instrument lights are screwed up. The warning lights all work but the reg lights slowly faded from left to right and are now totally gone. My parking lights have also gone away. I have checked the fuses and all are good. So I am kind of lost. I would assume it ws wiring but I am not sure as the lights seemed to slowly fade over time from left to right. (I had no left side fuel, oil, battery lights and left half of speedometer went dim and then out and then the right side went. Bulbs? been told no but I wont rule anything out right now. Heck I have even laid bread crumbs on dash for the gremlins.
So if you have any ideas let me know. tired of having flashlight taped to steering wheel for night driving. JUST KIDDING!
thanks in advance
Hey, i would DEF say bulbs in the dash, i have a 2000 EXCURSION and i just had the cluster out, there are 2 main bulbs (maybe more but i def remember 2) and they were on each side, so if one went out it would look like only half is lit, then the other goes out and no lights.. so i would def pull the cluster and check those bulbs.. as for the park lights... if you checked the fuse and it is still good i would look at the switch... let us know what you find.. i know there was an extended warrannty on the headlight switches for the 2000 model year, i dont know why but maybe it is because they fail??? let us know whats up..
Thank you oh wise one. I was told it wouldnt have been bulbs. I will go out and check it out. Makes sense. I need to have headlight switch replaced under recall, same with cruise control. I would chuck a stick of dynomite into gas tank but X is paid for so I will wait on that until I decide to buy something else.
