I know I haven't been around much lately. Busy with a new house, lots of carpentry work and fixing up to be done there. I've been neglecting my truck a little bit, too...which I feel awful about.
In any case, I had to replace the starter last night. No problems there, but when I was testing batteries and checking cables (to be sure my problem was ACTUALLY a faulty starter) I found that my battery cables aren't in as good of shape as I would like.
My question is this: I am going to start saving pennies to buy a new set. What should I expect for cost? Also can I go straight to International to save myself the hassle of dealing with Ford? Where should I go to buy?
It's apparent now that i've replaced the starter that the dang starter has been going bad for a while now. Starts over super quick now.
thanks for the link. My positive cable on the right side, the connector that goes on the battery and has the cable running through it has started to fray out. Time for a new cable. Wonder how much a pain it is to replace?
Just rechecked. Wasn't fully awake the first time apparently. Might be right around $100 if I can finagle one of my mech. Buddies into to getting them at cost
