I had a 1999 F450. There is only one altanator on the truck that is mounted in the lower location. If you are looking at the front of the truck it is at about the 7 o'clock position. Where the regular altanator mount is there is a Aura genarator mounted. the problem is that this powerline altnator was not putting out enough power. So under the direction of hehr power systems, I installed a smaller pully. This solved the power problem, but now the belt will slip with the altanator under a load and the throttle not at an idle. Any idea's on this This is on a fire dept truck.
Is that Aura generator for making 110v? I just googled it and that's the best answer I can think of right now.
Other than the smaller pulley for the alternator, is there available a larger crankshaft pulley?
tensioner is good, the belt was a NAPA, then for giggles I tried a Motocraft. same results.
I could understand if only the napa belt squealed as I have had so much problems with them in the past I would only use one as last resort
if using all ford oem parts with generator install the bottom alternator actually has a stronger pulling surface than the top mount
how much smaller is the new pulley and how much shorter is the new belt?
