ABS warning light

Wife's 2003 Mountaineer, 4.0L, 17,000 miles. ABS warning light has started coming on. Will clear by turning off ignition key and restarting, but comes on again while driving. I have worked on brakes before, but never the ABS stuff. As this is outside the normal warranty (we have an extended one, but there is the deductible), is there anything I should look for first? Loose wire, ??? Or does anyone know of a recall/TSB on Mountaineer ABS systems?
