Check Engine Light Evap Question

Hey guys.

My girlfriend's 1998 Explorer had the "check engine light" on, so I pulled the code and it was "P0455 Evap Emission Control System Leak". What are the likely problems here and the fix? Thanks guys!

The first step is to check the gas cap to be sure it is undamaged and is properly installed.

After that, it gets a lot harder to diagnose unless you have your own smoke machine.

Aside from the gas cap, what else could it be? Is driving it going to be a problem? I don't know much about emissions systems.
