E-Brake light lights up?

E-Brake light lights up?
This is a new one to me. Since it has gotten cold, everytime i get on the gas, not hard, but pretty good and make a turn, the e-brake light lights up. I have never seen a car do this, or heard of this happening. Now, I am also having those shifting issues with the tranny, with it slamming into gear every so often, but I don't know if the two are related or not. The light doesn't always light up, but every so often it does. I've only noticed it at night, haven't noticed it during the day, but of course, it is more alertful at night in city driving. Now, the reason I don't think the two are connected is bc my sisters 02 explorer is doing the same. I have the 4.0 OHV 5R55E 4x4, she has the same except the SOHC motor. Don't know if that would make a difference, but you never know. Have any of ya'll seen this, and if so, how do you fix it, bc it is kinda annoying.

I can't remember, but it's been less than a year since I put new pads on. I'll check the fluid, that makes sense bc it occurs when turning or decent to heavy acceleration, which could mean sloshing of fluid.
