Engine Swap

Well, at 197k my X is in the shop for a new engine and trans. Burning 3 quarts of oil in a week was getting to be too much. Engine and trans out of an 03 with 20k for $3000.

I dont see why it wouldnt work out. Its a 2v engine and a 4R100 trans just like urs. Was the 03 two or 4wd?

What engine? If its a 2003 it could be a 6.0 w/ the ts tranny. Either way it sounds like a good deal at 3K. The only concerns I'd have would be the tendency for the earlier 6.0's (or really all of them) to not like to sit and not be worked. Sticky or corroded turbo unison rings and such. The other concern would be the condition of the tranny. If all checks out it sounds like a good investment. Not sure as far as fitment issues or adapters, etc to make it work though. Good luck.
