I was wondering where the EBPV was located and if there was a way to bypass it? and also if it could cause a rough idle?

You can just unplug it so if stays open. There is a wire harness that goes into the front of the turbo housing on the impeller side.

The actual EBPV is after the compressor wheel. It's easy to ID. Just look for the metal shaft that controls it.

O.K. is the EBPV's job to help the truck warm up when it's cold? What are the possible problems if you unplug it? Mine obviously works.

Unplugging the EBPV does not harm the truck. It just takes longer for the combustion temps and oil/water temps to get warm. When I turn mine on my egts stay around 400 while turning it off the temps stay around 200 or so.

it is usually when its warm. because the truck has a higher idle when its cold. and it has this little shake but it stops and levels out but the idle is still there

When I replaced my CPS I thought my pickup ran a little smoother. It's a possibility. There a pretty cheap.
