Flowmaster 70 or 50 SUV

I am joining the V10 club pretty soon, and I am looking at exhaust systems:

Which would sound better on a 2004 V10? I know some of you guys have lots of experience with this:

Flowmaster 70 or 50 SUV?

I will also be doing the Y-Pipe at the same time.

If your running the exhaust in the stock location eaither would be a good choice. I'm happy with my FM70 but I would like my exhaust a little louder. My dad has the 50 SUV on V10 and it works and sounds good.

I have the FM70 series. How much noise to u want this engine to make? Or do u want it to be quiet? If u want it to be quiet, then go for the 70 series. This muffler has a lot deeper tone then stock but it isnt much louder then stock. (thats why i am getting rid of mine). But i havent heard FM50 series yet. I am sure it is louder then the FM70 series.

I have the FM 70 and happy with it. Mine is on the back end of the Banks powerpack. So mine sounds different than most due to the headers.

Well I want it to be louder than stock, that's for sure.

But, I also don't want it to sound like a bumble bee fartin' in a jar

I have the 50, and its not too bad...
I wanted it real loud... like the sound V8s get with the FM40
But its not that loud, and doesnt sound as good as a V8
I was thinking about just str8 piping it

It will probably never sound as good as a V8, lol. Not the way these things fire. I believe that the 50 Series SUV is a little louder than the 50 Series Big Block.

I agree a V8 with a FM40 sounds really good, but I am not even thinking I am going to get that sound out of a V10

Some FM kits only come with the FM70 if you want the catback. It wasn't much more for the entire catback and didn't have to pay a muffler shop to cut up and weld in a 50 series. I would like it a little louder though. Happy with the 70, wouldn't mind a 50.

Contact Flowmaster tech-support and follow their advice for your engine size. If you get the wrong muffler, the exhaust will sound awful - and I don't mean loud.
