REconnected vac line
Ok, this is very strange indeed, so just to update those that have helped me on this so far: Yesterday i hooked my egr back up to the line that had a bolt in it (plugging it off). Now, the "service engine" light that i had periodic trouble with stays off! I guess that fixed it? I drove about 30 miles and no light. very strange, i'm holding my breath though.
