Yesterday morning when I started the truck up there was a small hickup at idle.
Not a miss but a little up and down idle (very slight) thought it was odd but moved on. Yesterday afternoon while leaving work as I got to a stop light (wasn't fully to temp yet) I could feel a pulsating/surge in the motor from the brake pedal and the RPM did a weird drop. I looked at icp and ipr and all were normal and had not other issues just that one. No codes, no loss of power, no hard start, just that strange anomaly. What should I be looking at as far as parameters or other things. Back of my mind I'm thinking injector but I'm still green so have no real clue.
Do you have a larger alternator? I know when mine comes on when the engine is cold you can really see the rpm drop when the 230 amp Prestolite comes on, especially after a really cold start.

sure don't--still stock. Of course right now the engine is pretty warm already when I leave work--ECT and EOT has been around 113 when I turn the key on after 8hours at work. I'd sure like to capture everything when it happens somehow because by the time I can scroll through the sg to look at other stuff it would have passed. I suppose I will just keep an eye on it and see what happens.
Ok--so today it happened again. ICP and IPV were all good, volts were all good. I noticed it as I was sitting in traffic after a 25 mile drive (was fully warmed up)
Sitting in traffic at normal idle the rpms would go up and down 25 rpm or so (never going above normal idle) when I raise the RPM it went away. I'm suspecting as mentioned above an injector needs to be serviced. As of yet no codes. What am I looking at $$ wise for getting a contribution test?
I had a diagnosis done locally. He did not have IDS but had a better scan tool then mine. He found what injector was dead and one that was low. Charged me $100.
I would have really like to have it hooked to IDS to really see what's going on.
I have a place local that all they do is 6.0 that probably can do it.
But I think I'm going to get AE or something like that so I can do it myself. It did it just a little today at start up but not in traffic. It's not a stumble or miss but just the slight rpm swing--just seems weird to me but I suspect injector. Also it's not like the first time it did it and started after I put the HOT SHOT in and changed to the DK white bottle.
