I need to ask if anyone has had this problem before and if so can it be fix easily.
When I turn my lights on everything is good, but when I try to put on the high beam everything goes blank. Is there a swith inside that steering colum at the end of the wiper arm that I can try to repair, if so is it an easy job or what.
Just repleaced my MF for the same symptoms. Well actually, it started with HBs occasionaly not coming on. then they failed and a few days later, headlights quit all together. Had to drive home with fog lights.
Not hard at all to replace. Assuming tilt. Move the steering wheel to the lowest position. Pop out the cover between the instruments and the clam shell. Unsrew the tilt lever. Remove screws from the clam shell (on the bottom), and pull the bottom away. Next remove the ign lock. Put the key in, turn to on, press (hold) the release button (bottom side of tumbler) and pull the lock out. Now the upper will slide up and allow access to 2 screws holing the MF in place. remove and replace MF.
There is a wire on the ign sw that controls the dinger. Look at it carefully so you kwo how to put it back in.
I may be off on which half of the clam shell the the ign sw is in. But the directions should be close enough

Reason: spelling
Some people have had luck by just taking the MF apart and cleaning all the electrical contacts in it. That's why it fails in the first place...because it get's dirty. You might get lucky and have a free fix.
