vacuum hose?

vacuum hose?
I have a 2000 f250 superduty 4x4 5.4 liter.I was under the truck and noticed what looks like a vacuum hose coming off the transmission and just hanging there.It looks like it would go up to the engine compartment but i cant tell where it would connect.Anyone have any ideas?

There is no vacuum to the trans. It is probably just a vent hose.
