Dash Guages Gone Crazy!!! :-0
I just picked up a 1998 Navigator toaday with 158K on it at a pretty god price. One problem it has that I can't seem to figure out is when I start it the guages all read fine then after a little bit the oil pressure guage shoots all the way up to HI then comes back down and the temp and volt guages max out. If it shut it off and turn it back on everything is okay for a few seconds then the temp and volt guages max out again.
I test the volts and the alt is putting out 14.2-14.3 and I only had it running for about 10 minutes total in 30 degree weather so I know it wasn't over heating, the upper radiator hose was luke warm at best.
Other problems it has (possibly related?):
1) No heat (probably the blend door thing because there's a little bit of heat comming out the back)
2) No rear heat blower (if that makes sense)
3) Air Suspension does nothing (I know it's been an on going issue with this truck... it was my neighbors)
Thanks a lot for any input!
2)Even if the blend door isn't functioning the rear heat works. My blend door is broken now and will be doing the repair when it warms up. It is a huge job but there is a procedure i got from another member that is great if you need it let me know. I was able to get the door to move by upping the temp 1 degree at a time with like 1 min between(very slowely), that did not work long though. The blend door is in a plenium chamber behing the glove box. With the tem on 90 i tapped the box with a rachet extension and herd flwp and heat came out. Have not tried ac yet but its dec in NY only need heat

3)don't know about the rear blower. It is located on the driver side in the rear of the truck. You can see ventilation slots where the air goes in to be heated or cooled I think, but not sure.
