I just got a '50 F1 project truck and a '49 to use for parts (a couple pictures in my gallery). The 50 doesn't have a motor or tranny. The 49 has a motor and tranny but no bed.
I'm now in the planning stages of the build, trying to figure out what to do with this truck. I have access to a 350, which I'm thinking on using. I'm considering the S10 frame swap. Really don't have anything set in stone, just trying to get everything figured out.
Looks like there is a wealth of information here, and I'm looking forward to learning from it.
Welcome Marc. Congrats. on you new project. I also purchased a '50 F-1 in September and am still in the dicision making mode. I will change my mind on how to proceed quite a few times before I actually start to turn wrenches. I think that is the normal process. Lots of knowledgable folks here and willing to share with everyone. Looking forward to hearing about your progress.
Hi Marc; When I started on my truck, I was like you I knew I wanted it to run and be safe, that's about all I had figured out. But then I found this site. After a lot of DUMB Q's and a lot of GOOD answers I put a plan together and started on it. Things seem to come together a lot better after that. So figure out what you think you want and ask Q's.... Believe me it will be a lot easier after you do. Welcome to the board and good luck with your Truck. OH and WELCOME TO THE DARK SIDE.........................
Marc,
Think I saw your trucks during an auction in Mitchell a few weeks ago. there was alot of cool stuff there. glad you are going to save them. some of the old cars and trucks were being bought by scrapers!

Marc, welcome to the site. Look forward to watching your truck progress. Keep us posted with plenty of photos as you go along. We just love photos. And ask away, this is the only place with the powerhouse of knowledge on old Ford trucks and a fun place to surf.

Yup, I got the '49 at that auction. A guy at work then found me the '50 (which is in a lot better shape), so I picked it up this past weekend.
There's probably a 9" in one of the vehicles that the scrappers got that would work for me, but it's just getting junked.
Welcome to the board, Marc. I spent over a year figuring out what to do with my truck, and have finally got a plan put together, but I'm sure it'll change 1344 times from now. Let's see here, that would make how many total?
