Need some info on swapping a 460 into a 75 highboy. The truck had a 390 in it. I am using a bellhousing from a 400 M and the clutch from the 390. I have been told that there is some way of making the 390 motor mounts work. If anybody has any pics or input on this I would appriciate this as I do not want to spend $275 for the L&L kit.

As long as you can bolt the mounts up to the engine you can mod the towers to fit the angle of the mount or make wedges to take up the gap. I bought the mounts from L&L for my 400-429 conv just to save the headaches

 

you can use 351m 400 mounts from a 77 highboy, then get the l&l conversion mounts for a 77 with an m their around $100.

 

My 76 150 had a 390 and the prior owner put in a 460. The mounts are as follows, don't know what their original application was, but a part number search should tell you.

Did the same swap, bought new 360/390 mounts for the highboy, lined them up on the 460 block, drilled one hole. Installed with original engine towers, fit nice=got the info. from this site! Had to make room for the bolt head in the rubber, just used a small holesaw-removed the rubber, and it worked. I used ex. manifolds from a supercab 2wd.
Haven't attempted headers yet.
Note: I changed my whole drivetrain from standard/divorced T-case, to auto/married.
