Wont start
My stock 1982 300 wont start in the mornings. I used to push the gas once then let off and it would start fine. I guess that set the choke. Well the last couple of mornings i have had to crank and crank and crank before it would start. So this morning i popped the hood. It didnt look like the choke was working seeing that it was open. How can i fix this. thank for any help.

If I had a stuck choke, I would first remove the air cleaner, for a better view. Then carefully manipulate the chack plate to see where it is binding. If it is crudy, clean it with carb cleaner concentrating on the pivit points and the linkage. Work it by hand. When the engine is cold it should want to spring to the closed, or almost closed position. When it it warm, it should try to spring open. If you cant feel any spring, pop the cover off of the round black external attachment to the carborator. There is a bimetalic spring in there that should be hooked up to the linkage.
