rear end gears

Hello all, When it comes to rear end gears Im lost. Anyone know of a great website or a book that I could learn all about gears for my 77 F150 2wd 300 inline 6?

well I think I have a ford 9" 10 bolt. I have no idea what gears I have inside. I would like to get a little more top end speed without losing my towing power? if that sounds right.

there should be a tag on the rear end post here what the numbers are and im sure someone can decode what it is, you may need to wire wheel the tag to see it...
