Question Steering shift lever

What years and models came out with the same steering colum as the 1975 f250 custom cab truck? The lever has broken on mine and the manual I have doesn't address that area for replacement parts. Please help.

Replacement parts spoken here.

The actual shift lever is broken? That's kinda rare for that to happen.

Or is it the shift collar that the lever fits into that's broken?

Could also be the shift tube, then there's the plastic bushings at the bottom of the column.

Why replace the whole column with another used one?

Whatever broke could break all over again.

It is broke inside the column at the cylinder where the lever connects. The cylinder itself broke with it in drive. Now I can't even start it. I would prefer to just replace the part but I'm not even sure what its called. I thought I'd go to pull-a-part and try to find it but I don't know if it interchanges with any others and they may not have my exact truck as old as it is.Any suggestions?

Either the shift fork hole.... notched out part... has rounded out or the shift column part has worn down.

Best to take it apart or get a replacement for swapping in.

1973/77 = the neutral switch is at the bottom of the steering column.

1978/79 = the neutral switch is on the transmission.

Look at the far right in the exploded diagram of the column Mil1ion posted.

The neutral switch is #7A247

Notice part #7B097 = if this part is broken, the neutral switch cannot be engaged. #7B097 snaps onto the column, this part is still available from Ford, as is the neutral switch.

D0TZ-7B097-B .. Neutral Switch Lever ~ Ford list price: $18.72

C7TZ-7A247-A .. Neutral Switch (Motorcraft SW-600)-Fits: 1967/77 F100/350.
