Diff Fluid question

how many quarts of diff fluid do I put in my 99 f150 2WD?

Not right off, Is it the 8.8 or 9.75 rearend? (which engine?)

My 8.8 took just under 3 full quarts with the 4oz bottle of friction modifier.

I beleive they take about 3 quarts and a little less for a 8.8. You need 75w140 syn. for the rear.

all axles take a little over 2.5 quarts... and the synthetic 75w 140 is correct.

If you don't want to pay $20 a quart for the 75W-140, you can put some 80W-90 synthetic in it for $7 a quart (for Mobil 1 too). That's what I did. It came from the factory with 80W-90 in it...so why spend 3x the cost to put different stuff in it?
