BTW, why is the front not synthetic? I thought i.e. 75w-90 Mobil would be good, no?
I guess it would be fine. However, I know that GM pickups and SUV's required you to change out a breather tube cap on the front axle to be compatible with synthetic oil. I'm not sure if Ford has these foolish issues or not so ask around.

You can use synthetic in place of dino lube with no problems. FMC uses dino to save a little money. The rear axle was changed to synthetic from the factory mainly to prevent premature failures they were experiencing a number of years back.

use 90-140 synthetic gear lubean just bout forget about it. get heavy industril magnet ond get it inside the case or get a magnetic drain plug if there is a plug on axle. road ranger big truck transmission actully cst in magnets inside the trnsmission housings. that will take care of tiny metal stuff.
