my Christmas epistle got me reminising.... thinking about some folks that don't hang here much anymore and I remembered a thread from back in 2003
newbies may not appreciate the artistry or social relevance here... but it should give you a laugh... anyway... you guys are ok... but I miss George and Fenders .
After reading your post and looking back at the old thread, I wasnted to bring this to your attention.
The song writer that wrote the song "Hokey Pokey" passed away last week at the age of 93.
The worst part for the family was getting him into the casket. The put his left leg in.....and that's when all the trouble started......

gil...
that was a bad joke the first time I heard it in 2000
Oh the good ole days. Thanks for the reminder John, never a waste of time to reminisce. I actually do miss Fenders daily dose, but I think of him every time I polish the S/S he sent me as a gift for sponsoring the bolt kit sale . Seems a lot has changed over the past few years. I go back over the old threads from time to time just for kicks and always wonder where some of the guys went or why they went.

and seems like that bolt kit sale did something to help my grandson also... another good memory from FTE
Everytime I see Marlo Thomas or hear a St. Judes commercial I think of Cole and woner how the Little Bugger is getting along.
Things were so intense then it's like he became a family member to all of us.
I'm a newbie around here, I didn't stumble through the door until the spring of 05. Some of the old timers were still around. They welcomed me and made me feel right at home. Never did anyone on this board make me feel like a complete idiot, never did anyone blast me for asking the same danged questions that every newbie asks, never did anyone intimidate me or make me feel like my opinion wasn't worth squat.
For the rest of the newbies here, do yourself a favor and go back in history and read some of the early posts.......you will be amazed.
Thanks for the reminder ..ah the good ole days. The forum has changed flavors since I chanced upon its' existence. IMHO it seems there were less urinating contests then. Fenders and George were some of the first pundits that helped me with my addiction to early Fords.
The season is a time for relection, although I do avoid the mirror more these days. Some days I don't recognize the person looking at me.
I still drop in to the forum, just don't add my 2 cents as often.
