Crack Alternator

Hi

I had alternator problems with my 2001 F250 diesel, the truck has about 240,000 Kms on it. When I changed the alternator I noticed it was cracked on the bottom. Has anyone seen this before?

Never had a crack on mine, but I did go through 3 alternators before 70K mi. on my '01. Wonder if it got dropped somewhere along the line.

I'd be happy it lasted that long.
