95EB Bronco Repairs (different things)
So first of all, need to repair the cruise control. It hasn't worked for years. This is what I know so far:
The on and off buttons on the column work. When i push coast, set accel, or decel you can hear a relay or something clicking in the dashboard on the driver side near the A pillar. When you hit the off button and try to push those buttons, i get no click. When i hit the on button, then hit one of those, i get that click. At no time however does cruise work, and the cruise light never comes on. A shadetree mechanic presumes a cluster switch which he said he isn't good enough to repair so he left it alone. Knowing that it's getting as far as a relay, what do you guys presume? What can I check next.
Next issue is temp guage. The Bronco is used to tow a bass rig to tournaments. On a run, years ago, to Okachobee (sp?) the temp guage went crazy on the way down, flipping rapidly back and forth between the two pegs. Then went normal. A few days later on the way back it did it again, then just fell to the left side (the C side peg) and just lays there. Has for all these years. Never gets off that peg, just lies there, limp like. We replaced the temp sensor but that did no good for it. That's where it was left. Any clue on that one?
Next is the driver's side window. We believe it is the regulator gear that is stripped causing us trouble going up and down. We purchased, from NAPA, a Window Regulator Gear, part 665-1502. It's a 52 tooth gear. It also comes with 3 plastic things, kinda like opaque white jelly drops. No clue what is in there. Can anyone show a guide on removing the door panel on the truck safely without breaking things. Fixing this will really help dad.
I think that's all for now. We get these fixed and we're ready for new tires and exhaust system.
EDIT: Also would like to state the Bronco did have it's TSB performed, on the cruise control switch known to burn. I believe it's mounted to the master cylinder. Any ways, it was done about a year ago.

which is what they did because they did not have enough of them when the tsb
went out, So check if the wire is disconnected right there at the MC or anywhere on
the wire harness. Autozone.com has wiring diagrams online for free to trace the temp
gauge wires. An aftermarket temp gauge wouldn't be a bad idea for better accuracy
and a trans temp gauge would be nice also since you are in Florida too and towing in
the summer can really heat them up a gauge will let you know when to down shift
or pull over or give you a idea if your cooler is too small!! The window motor is most
likely the 3 plastic things not the gear itself, Use a butter knife to pry the clips off
the door panels be sure to hold tightly to the door panel if it slips the plastic around
the switches can crack!! If it has never been replaced you will need to drill out the
3 DIMPLES not the rivets!!!!!!! If you drill the rivets you are royally screwed since
the spring will uncoil. Be sure to lube everything up with PB corrosion stop or white
lithium when you put it back together to keep it moving smoothly in the future.
Fixed the driver's side window 2 weeks ago. The bushings were absolutely pulverized.
Friday repaired the cruise at temp guage at the stealership. 510$. Needed a new oil and temp guage, and the switches in the steering wheel had to be replaced. But it's a good strong daily driver, my dad is more than thrilled. Runs like the day it came off the lot.
