Hello All..........
Wife's 2005 EB Explorer is starting to squeak alot going over bumps.
When I climb under, it looks like a steering Stabilizer bar??? that runs side to side. It is held in place by going through 2 rubber bushings. What should I lubricate these with? Grease? Silicone? Oil? WD-40?
i put wd40 on the kids Mustang a couple years ago and it lasted 2 weeks. Finally took the rubber sleeve off, coated with antisieze and reinstalled-- 2 years later, no squeek.
It's the rubber sway bar bushings creaking when the front wheels lift going over a bump. You can lube them up or replace them with poly bushings. Google for 'explorer sway bar bushing' and you'll find lots of sources for new bushings.
