Bts VB or John Woods VB?

Has anyone ran just the john woods valve body that he sells like the bts valve body and can you give some feedback on it. Just curious of the comparisons of the two.

From what I have read, you can't go wrong with either. Both are top of the line tranny builders with great customer service. I'd go with the one you can drive to and discuss the whole tranny for when the time comes.

I absolutely agree with Orezona.

IF you are inbetween them, flip a coin, their both at the top of the game when it come to tranmission knowledge!

When my diode locked up and burnt the hell out of the trans, BTS gave me credit for the VB I bought from them towards the new trans. Guess I would prefer BTS since I got great service and parts from them.

My truck was similar modded to yours, I had an edge evo, (first edition) custom t/c lockup switch etc. By far the best thing I have done to the truck for the tranny was adding a BTS vb, P/I torque converter and DPtuner. I did the DP last night, and the BTS vb tonight. The torque converter and a pump spring were done when the tranny was rebuilt. I dont know if they evoIIs do anything with the tranny, but I cannot even begin to describe, how nice the transmission works now. Im sure its all things contributing, but after driving my truck with an evo for a year, and hating the sloppy shift, and constant need for t/c lockup switch activation, I just cannot express how happy I am. Im sure both the JW, and BTS are good units, but if you got the cash, get a DP tuner with it, and maximize the transmissions performance. Its a completely different animal, it knows what to do now, when to shift, lockup.

the evo II adjust the transmission just like the original evo but i still don't like how it makes the tranny shift. I would rather drive the truck stock b/c i prefer how it shifts that way over the edge shifting. i would like to get a T/C but i can't afford it right now. i want a valve body though, have heard great things and would like to try it.

The t/c isnt a MUST thing, but if you do a valve body, I would really give Jody a call (DP tuner) Like I said before, if your trying to make your truck shift really good, the combo of a vb and his tuning is amazing. If you tell Jody you have an evoII he might be able to reprogram it? I think he sells eveIIs but i dont know if he has the ability to reprogram one that wasnt sold by him? Best be is to call the man!

Something else I just remembered, when I called BTS and asked about the VBs, he said he can adjust them for the edge, so maybe he can make the edge shift nice aswell. He said he does setup for edge, differently then he does for the DP tuner stuff.. hope that helps!
