not getting hot!?!?!?

When i go to work in the morning in takes the heater a long time to get worm.
Last winter it would get hot pretty fast, and then I would have to turn it down because it would get too hot, but now I cant even hardly get worm by the time I get to work.

What should I look for?

Thermostat.. make sure it isnt' stuck open.
Also check your clutch fan (if you have one) and make sure it's not sticking.. mine did and the truck took forever to warm up.
The fast-idle is working, right? The truck should idle at about 1500+RPMs until it warms up

These trucks warm up pretty quick, with a new thermostat mine will reach operating temps at fast-idle in about 3mins.

edit: Honestly, the first thing I'd replace would be the thermostat..

does the heater blow warm air if you drive it long enough? if it never seems to warm up (the heater, not the engine), it may be the vacuum control on the heater pipes. My heater stopped working this winter, but it's just because the vacuum control is old and rusted shut.

Also see if both heater hoses are hot then you will know if coolant is circulating through core. I would also check thermostat like suggested.

Sometimes when the coolant gets low it won't circulate properly through the heater core.
A missing or weak radiator cap won't let the system build up enough pressure, either.

Most likely it's the thermostat, though.

We need to know if the engine is getting warm to properly diagnose this...

if your engines warm and still not blowing hot air out try switching the heater hoses around at one end so the water goes through the heater the oposite direction and should unplugg it. if that happens to be the problem

If it is 28* in the morning and i go out and start the truck and let it idle, how long should it take to get to running temp?

Just at idle it should be warm in 7-10 minutes, driving around it should be warm in 5-7 minutes... thats where mine starts to get warm. I just have the factory non-clutch fan, fan shroud, and 185 degree thermostat.

with a 400 on a cold morning mine will warm up in about 4-5mins with a clutch fan on an ICY morning.. not to full operating temps, but enough to blow warm air on me.

I agree with 1pump, my vote is to check your coolant level.
