If you can relate to this or have any advice plz give me a hand before I buy a new one and waste 6 perfectly good cd's. I went to eject one of my cds earlier today and hit ejt and it asked which slot and I picked 6. Well I did it and it I guess it started to come out and then it came up as cd error. If someone can help me. Everytime I go to listen to a cd it says cd error and the cd player work, load, or eject. Any help would be very appreciated. THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!
Very common thing for these 6-disk changers. Hit eject and the number for that cd, then as it tries to eject, bang repeatedly and rapidly on the top of the dash with your fist just over the top of the radio. Keep banging until the CD pops out.
Mine just did the same thing. It was the first time I ended up using my extended warranty. Before I did I took I out and apart, but was unable to get it to eject even though I could get it to cycle the discs, it still wouldn't eject or play and that was after two hours of work. Rather than destroy it I did the warranty thing. Got the new stereo in one day, but it took three weeks before they sent back my six cd's which by the way four were destroyed from scratches...so I don't know if they were ruined when it went bad or when they took them out.
Mine does the same thing to. But it does it liike once every month. I never knew that it ment that the CD player was defective. I guess its time for aftermarkt deck!
You might try disconnecting the power harness from it, resetting the whole unit, but it kind of sounds more like a mechanical problem. You'll have to remove the deck from the dash, but I'd give it a shot before replacing the whole thing. I've had problems with aftermarket decks and I would pull the plug on em, they would reset, and all would be fine. Hitting it sounds like bad advice - you'll just end up with the same problem again and risk breaking something else inside of it.
I had this problem too. I found in another forum somewhere to stick something long into the slot and force the cd up. It is getting stuck in a sort of tilted position and pushing up on it will straighten it out. You can use a popsicle stick or something similar to prevent scratching your cd. Get a flashlight and look toward the top of the inside, you should see your cd "tilted" slightly. Hope this helps.
well i got a paper clip and straightened it out. Put a little hook on the end and put the lil hook in the middle of cd and pulled it out. but the cd error still comes up. and the front little flapper thing ( lost for words right now) is still open. any advice.

Mine does that from time to time. I'll get the "CD Error" for a few days. I can hear it trying to fix its' self, and then it just gives up. After a few days of trying, it starts to work.
Nothing to do but wait - or get a new deck. I plan on getting a DVD one once Christmas is all done.
try pulling the fuse for the radio, turn your key on, then off, then replace fuse.
I pulled the fuse put key on on for a few seconds. Didn't work. Un hooked batteru for 5 minutes. Didn't work. I am gonna end up spending another $150 for a 6 disc cd and waste 5 cd's
We just bought our F350 and our CD6 flapper is stuck shut and reads CD error. If we hit load it says innitializing makes a buzzing sound and says error. We can't even force feed a disk into and see if it works. It likes to eject only. Want to trade! Maybe we can make one whole one!!
Mine does the same thing too. The first time it did it, I had a heck of a time getting it to reset itself. But it did finally. What I did do, was Eject each CD. When it gets stuck, I slide a credit card into the slot above or below depending on where it's hung up. and out it pops. You gotta be quick so that you don't get another error.
Funny thing about it... It didn't start until after the warrenty ran out.
