should be a 60 rear and high pinion 44 up front. Very seldom you will find a 60 front but not likely.
i think only low pinion dana 44's and dana 60's were availabe for the front axle until 1978. some '78 and '79 f-250 4x4's got the high pinion 60 if they had the snow plow package (an option, not stock), and all '79 f-350 4x4's had the high pionon 60 as stock equipment. 1979 was the 1st year a f-350 4x4 was available. in 1980 and later models the dana 60 was still used in the larger trucks, but the spring perch locations changed. this means that 80 and later dana 60's are not a direct bolt on swap. it can and has been done, but requires quite a bit of fabrication.
the high pinion 60's are more desireable (and expensive). the fact that they were only available in '78-79 f-250 4x4's as an option and '79 f-350 4x4's as stock equipment is the reason they are so hard to come by. expect to pay $1000 to $1500 for a rebuildable one if you can find one.
i have a 1977 hiboy with a low pinion dana 44HD in the front and have considered doing this swap, so please correct me if i'm wrong.
