Intercooler, how much of a difference?

Hey all, I'm looking at getting an intercooler after the new year and was wondering if someone could tell me how much of a difference it made in their EGTs and if there was a significant notice in power or not? Thanks!

I'm not sure how much HP you'll notice, if any, but it will definitely help your EGT's.

Thanks, thats what I need because I see over 1500 with my Ultra Comp tune at the track. I know its only for a few seconds but I'd like to keep it down.

for every degree drop in IA temp, you should see an equivalent drop in EGT they say. how close to true that is, i dont know. but i do know that they help.
i'm looking to get an a/m intercooler anyway since my stock plastic end tanks will probably abandon ship when i turn the boost up past 40 i've heard.

Running the Techni-Cooler will drop your EGT considerably.. The relation to IAT to EGT is just as LvTitan said.. The lower you can get your IAT, the lower your EGT will be..

Techni-Cooler is a complete replace.. New intercooler, new Intake pipe and Intake Elbow..

I would tell you if it helps in power or not but I haven't installed mine yet. My Spearco has been sitting in the garage for 2 months now. hahahaha

To be honest the Technicooler is just a bigger version of the stock one, tube and fine design. That is far inferior to Spearco's Bar and plate design which exchanges heat far better than the tube and fin design.

i wouldnt say FAR inferior, but yes, the bar/plate design dissipates heat much more efficiently, but with the surface area size of our intercoolers in relation to the little ones on cars, the tube/fin is more than adequate.

I installed a Banks intercooler and realized more responsiveness (power) right out of the gate.. It's great. I tow a 12,000# trailer and had blown the stock unit twice!!! It appears no more problems!!!

I've seen that 50 deg ambient temp drop drops egts over 100 deg easy, so I would be curious what the results are with a different intercooler.
