I have heard of a number of the hoses failing, but never heard of a stainless steel line failing. The best price is direct from KCM, who manufactures the SS line for ITP. http://members.***.net/kcmdieselperformance/ford.htm
I just tried to install that hose and gave-up. Did anyone have any clearance issues with the fuel lines going to the fuel filter/bowl? Are there any good instructions out there that also have pictures? I think I will just ditch the hose and get that SS Line instead. I have an (early) '99 F250. Thanks and sorry for the hijack.

nice link..at least a $10 savings.
Greg here is a pic of my rubber one..it sits just as pictured and is between the spider and the turbo...
That is the proper location to install the crossover hose? I was trying to do it at the front port on the passender side; right where the 2 fuel feed lines are mounted. Thank you very much for the picture. Were you able to notice a difference?

keep the plugs you take out in the glove box...never know when you might need them.....
Hey guys, thanks for all the info/help. I just ordered the SS Line. It seems a lot easier than I originally thought to install. I just coulnd't in good concience install the rubber hose. I went to tech school for Hydraulics and have done a lot of hydraulic repair. There is no substitute for good old metal tube; especially when it is a very critical part of your engine and exposed to that extremely harsh environment. Thanks again.

good move... i wish i new about the SS before i got mine and put it in..
Yeah, me too. I bought the rubber hose to save on shipping and because I didn't know about the SS one until I purchased the rubber one. I have been sitting on it for too long to try and return it, but I refuse to put it in because I know I will be worrying about it for the next few years. My ultimate goal for my truck is to make it the most reliable vehicle anyone has ever owned. I still have a lot of work to do, but that is for another thread all together.

i have a flexible hose from dale isley at tymar. i have never heard of one of his flexible lines failing. i know several people that have had them for 5+years.
I'm sure that these hoses will last for years. I have just replaced more flexible hoses in the 2 years I have been in hydraulic service than I can count. They all get dried out and brittle; let alone melt. Anything involving high temperatures use a metal tube if at all possible. I have only had to replace a few metal tubes in my life and that is because of a fire. I worry about everything as is.
The High pressure cross over balances out the oil rails for your injection system, helps cut down on chatter, and equilizes oil pressure among the injectors.
