road gear????
the more posts i read, the more i love the I6. my 77 (I6) came with a 3-spd manual tranny, and at highway speeds (55-65) i'm running right around 3000 rpm, (i think, it's been torn down a long time) i'm thinking about putting some serious highway miles on it, and wondered what other manual tranny or even rear end gears would run it at a lower rpm, or if i even wanted to run lower. i've heard good things about the zf1...? will it bolt on/do i want it?

Ford offered a 3sp manual with od attched that you could easily adapt to you 3 sp, if you can find one in a junkyard. Look in an old Motors or Chiltons big book from the 60s or 70s for the wiring diagram. (It was called trany code "B" on F100's)
