It's starting to look more and more like that... The problem I have is how are people getting these vehicles home legally? Connecticut requires a bill of sale and a title before I can get a plate. So how do I only make one trip down?
Well, in my state, Virginia.... the dealer will give you the title and issue you a 30 day temporary tag to drive home on. You do all your state's papwerwork when you get home. If you by any chance call about this black Excursion, talk to "Ron Stuart". He is an older experienced salesperson (old man ). He will work with you. And if you make a deal I will pick you up at the Greyhound bus station and take you to the dealer.
We have one major problem here right now. We are having a very severe water shortage. So I am sure the truck is filthy, they can't wash it every day and keep it looking good. It looks filthy in the pictures. A little elbow grease and water, it will look like brand new. I have looked at this Excursion close up.
disclaimer: I do not work for nor am I associated with this dealership in any way whatsoever. I am nothing but a past satisfied customer.

I am not one for all that crome and its a little too far to go, but I did not realize that I could get a temporary registration in a state I don't live. I will need to look into this further.

I live in Kentucky and our state requires the same thing. I purchased my X in Texas and purchased insurance for it before I flew to Houston, TX. The dealer gave me a bill of sale and put a Texas temp tag on it and I drove it home. After the manditory inspection and payment of taxes and license fee, the title was transferred and I was issued a KY plate.
I scored a 2000 4x4 Limited White/Beige, 108k off Autotrader. The dealer was located in Texas. I live in Arizona. It had the 05 front end update, brand new 315's AT on factory rims, aftermarked DVD/CD stereo system and a 4 inch lift. I paid 16,725. That was after a 250 dollar internet discount. 850 to ship it to me. I think I scored. Take your time and be open to either traveling yourself or hiring an independant inspection shop to look over any prospective vehicle you might be interested in and definitely get an oasis report on any 03/04 diesel. Good luck.
I found my dream X on Ebay. I have been watching Ebay for months and just happened to look one more time before going to bed and there it was. I flew to FL., bought the 2002 all black, two tone leather, dvd, 7.3 Limited (108,000) for $17,000 and drove back on the owners plates. I wasn't sure about the plate issue but my brother has a truck dealership and he says the plates stay on the truck. I am sending the plates back to the original owner. I also had the truck insured before I flew out.
