Hey guys, I've been looking for the motor perches for a 302/351w to fit in my 66. My local pick a part has no trucks with 302's in them and I was wondering if you guys had any spare. Pm me with any info. Thanks a lot guys.
the stock perches will work for a 302. you will have to move the perches back on the frame, but the holes are already there. i used the 69 302 engine mounts with this.
The 300/302/351/3.8 all have the same perches don't they?
Don't know what a 3.8 is, but the 352/360/390 and I-6 use the same perches the 302 used a different set. There were no Ws installed until into the 80s and doesn't apply.
Scifi266, Don't know why you cant find any, I can only suggest that you keep looking. Don't give up they are out there. Concentrate on the dent sides.
240,300 and 352,360,390 perches are the same in either the forward or rear bolt position.
302 and 351M/400M perches are the same, The modifieds use the cleveland mount location and pattern. Smae as a windsor.
Some have used the FE perches with small block isolators, but i dont see it being located the same as the FE The motor will be a little too far forward or rear ward using these.

I know you know these trucks very well, but your reference to "cleveland" might be misleading to some ppl. No 351C's were installed in F Series trucks. Only the 351M/400's were used...beginning in model year 1977.

i dont want to step on toes, but just because there diffrent parts for diffrent engines and trucks dont mean it wont work. you throw all the part numbers and specs and they dont mean a whole lot. ive found your info to be helpfull numberdummy but some times you need to step outside the box. if i went by every part number and spec i would still be chasing my tail.

I didn't say a 351C wouldn't work in a F Series truck. I said it wasn't original to a F Series truck.
Just remember something...not everyone that frequents these forums knows what a Cleveland engine is. Or a person might recognize the potential of a 351C, but not realize 351C's weren't installed in F Series trucks.
100's of ppl read these posts. I'd hate to see someone looking for a 351C engine in an F Series truck. I'd hate to read of someone who thought a 351M (or 400) was a 351C, and then installed it....the engines look identical.
The 351M engines are dog meat, so are the 75/82 400's. The heads are prone to cracking, the engines themselves are a smogged up POS.

Yes they will fit.. I use the cleveland refrence as the modifieds retained the clevelands engine mounting points. and they are the same as a small bolck windsor, Hence one can use a 302/351M/400M mount to mount a 351C. but not a 240/300/352/360/390 perch, But people on here will swear they used the 300 perch to mount a windsor? go figgure some times. I have always hunted the correct perch as it kept everything where it is supposed to be.
No 351Cs were put in trucks here i agree 100 percent, Aussies dont count. I don't pay much mind to part numbers either unless i am doing a points resto...Just use what in past experience has worked.
Sort of like a guy looking at supposedly NOS hubcaps on epay and noting the redlead primer that ford put in there aint there...Argent silver outside and redlead inside, at least in the hundred or so i have handled....So they aint NOS just nice restored ones....well over 275 last time i looked... F250 61 to 65 bottle cap innies....But being pawned off as NOS...whats the old saying...Buyer Beware....
I would also offer that when setting the 302 that you keep in mind the fore/aft placement. The PO placed mine about 1 inch too far aft and it creates close quarters at the back of the head needlessly. With all that room, either put in a big block or slide that 5.0 off the firewall
