Yep, me again. I've taken my fuel tank to the rad shop and they soaked it over night. Flushed rinsed, painted, however I still see some smegma(rust) inside. Has anyone heard of a coating you can put in or any ideas. This tank is in awesome shape on the outside but 9 year old gas does wonders. My shop still smells bad.
Just a word of caution, before you use that word that starts with an s to describe rust, you should look up its meaning and then pick another word instead.
In past years when I have a gas tank that has some internal rust; I remove the sender, throw in about 20 : 3/8" nuts, a gallon of kerosine, and start moving the tank all around so that the nuts roll around and remove any loose scale. Remove 20 nuts and old kerosine, rinse, and seal. I have no idea if this is recommended ....has anyone else ever do this?
Ferguson, we have done that for many years with great results, but found it easier to use a tow chain rather than nuts/bolts. You leave the end of chain out of the tank neck and pull out when finished.

Jorg, I keep hearing the the POR is a very good product with today's new fuel blends. I helped a guy coat a tank, but itis only a year so far. No problems that I have heard.
